Who are we?

RoyaDoodle is a small family kennel located 7 minutes from Saint-Sauveur in the Laurentians. We produce only 3 to 4 litters in the spring and 2 to 3 in the fall. (About 6 or 7 litters per year) that is to say about 30 to 40 puppies per year maximum. After more than 5 years of work 7/7 and 365 days a year we think we have found the magic recipe to produce the most beautiful and intelligent DOODLES in Canada.

Our BorDoodles

In the US they are called:
THE MOST INTELLIGENT DOG BREED IN THE WORLD THAT DOESN'T LOSE ITS HAIR.

The Bordoodles are recognized by all these associations:

their adult size

Our adult Bordoodles range from 33 Pounds to 48 Pounds depending on :

This way if you want a smaller dog then we suggest you take the smallest female of the litter and if you want a bigger dog then you can take the biggest male of a litter.

HOW TO SUM UP THE PERSONALITY OF BORDERDOODLES

Royal Doodles

5/5
We are blown away and surprised by this breed and we don't say that just because we breed them.
We all love animals and I don't think one breed is superior to another, and I don't think a dog isn't smart. Bordoodles are just another type of smart, and it's hard to explain until you have your own bordoodle. Having a purebred poodle or border collie is not the same thing either. It is similar, but unless you have or have had both breeds, it is different. Having other generations of bordoodle is similar, but still not the same as an f2b or f3 bordoodle. The most similar thing I can compare the race to, after having both races and generations, is us. They are most similar to humans. It's in the intelligence and not in the abilities.

This means emotions, understanding and demands. They have happiness, sadness, discontent, they feel excluded. They need comfort, they need excuses. They need gentle guidance and find joy in being part of their family. They feel your pain, they may cry with you, and they run to you when you are sad in hopes of comforting you. They feel your anger and bow their heads in shame, fearing that they are the cause. They look into your eyes for advice and read your body language to know what to do next. They learn phrases and know what you are saying, they listen to a new request you ask and do what you ask without ever learning how to do it. They get better with age but it starts much earlier than most breeds. They can help you with tasks without you ever needing their help. They are curious and inquisitive and will be by your side in everything you do. They will make sure the kids get up when they are supposed to and they will leave you to be with known and new kids. They will be eager to see everyone after you are gone and show you how unhappy they were to be left behind. They will interview newcomers and either approve or disapprove of them. They will protect you with every ounce of their being and defend their home with pride. They are more than amazing, they are absolutely amazing, and when you have them in your life, you will quickly understand why.

You are very excited but still have questions....

Adopting an animal is an important step, so we try to answer all your questions during the process. Please feel free to contact us if you do not find the answers to your questions.

All breeders in the USA should be contacted because they sell all their Borderdoodles at the same price of $3500 US regardless of the breeder or the sex or color.
On request we can send you around ten internet links from the most serious breeders in the USA so that you can see with your own eyes their prices of $3500 per puppy regardless of which American states in addition to being required to be on a waiting list of 6 to 24 months depending on the desired color.

See as an example these 3 links in the USA:

The reason is simple: Supply and demand!

As 95% of all new global trends and products come from the USA  (Movies, Music, Autos, Fast Food, Coke, Pepsi, Apple, Iphone, Face Book, Internet, Google, Amazon, Tesla, NASA, Nasdaq, AKC and almost all new inventions come from the USA including Bordoodles...

So it's easy to believe that Bordoodles have already been A LOT in fashion in the USA for at least 10 years while we in Quebec and Canada are still stuck on Goldendoodles, LabraDoodles and Bernadoodles. Oh well!

So a cross between the 2 MOST INTELLIGENT BREEDS of dogs in the WORLD... It's Simple!
Fashionable in the USA for 10 years already but still UNIQUE and very original in Quebec and Canada.

At the time of your official reservation and on the adoption contract, we will write your 3 choices of preferred colors out of the 12 choices of colors available. See the tab OUR PUPPIES (Choose your color) . Every Bordoodle litter is a little different depending on the genetics of the parents! Fortunately the fact that we have already had litters with the same parents in 2019 and 2020 and 2021 give us an excellent idea of what your puppy will look like once he becomes an adult. But on average we can say that; F1s are wavy to wavy (aka "polar coat"). F1b's are wavy/curly to curly (aka "wool coat") and F2b's are generally a step in between. More curly than a fleece coat but less than a wool coat. You can see what they look like as adults on our Gallery pages.

Bordoodles are not yet recognized as a real breed, and are still considered a "hybrid" therefore, they cannot be registered. However, each puppy has a pedigree going back at least four generations that can be provided to you! Our Bordoodles are ALWAYS from registered purebred dogs. Many scratches are registered with what you may call the "CKC". The Continental Kennel Club is an unreliable company at best. Any breeder can register their dog or puppies with this company and they will "take their word" for who the parents were and what breed(s) are involved. This is not a company I feel comfortable providing money to as they have virtually no credibility. I am working closely with a few reputable Bordoodle breeders to create a "standard" for the breed and thus, a reputable and traceable registration process. So far, there is no such thing as a "registered Bordoodle".

Our BORDOODLES are recognized by all these associations:

- The American Canine Hybrid Club

- The Designer Breed Registry

- Designer Dogs Kennel Club

- The Dog Registry of America

- The International Designer Canine Registry

We love to meet our potential puppy families of course.
And that's why we have been opening our doors every weekend for over 3 years to give you a great experience with our dogs and puppies.
We have the parents living with us on site and we always have 3 adult Borderdoodles of 3 different colors from the same parents so you can see what your puppy will look like when he grows up.

We invite you to visit our puppies page below.

Age 10 to 11 weeks is a good time to take your puppy to the groomer for a short visit. Maybe a bath and a brushing, without a dryer. Or just a brush, if your puppy is particularly tired. About 3 weeks later, do it again, but add 2 to 5 minutes of blow-dry time with lots of treats. Get your puppy soon or even stay for the visit. Slowly build up to this every 3 weeks or so until your puppy can tolerate full grooming which includes bathing, brushing, nails, hair cutting and brushing. Once the puppy is confident with a full groom, you can move on to every 6 to 8 weeks. Please see our grooming page for more details!

We send each of our puppies home with a custom collar! Once he/she outgrows that, we prefer martingale collars. Be sure to use a tag muffler, as the constant jingling of tags is uncomfortable for such sensitive ears!

The Border Doodle is an easy-going dog that is not prone to hyperactivity or boredom. He is just as happy living in an apartment as he is on a farm with unlimited acres to roam. A walk twice a day for a moderate distance is all the Bordoodle needs to be happy and healthy. Also, the Bordoodle can skip a day of exercise if the owner or trainer is busy or working late. This should not be a habit, as both parents of this hybrid are very intelligent. Its mind needs to be exercised as much as its body. The Bordoodle will excel at obedience trials, so this may be an activity you want to try. It's fun for the dog and the owner.

The Bordoodle is a true model of a dog, renowned for its even temperament, friendship and sociability. They are as friendly with children as they are with the elderly and are generally well mannered.

However, it is important (as with any dog) that they are well socialized as a puppy. This gives them a solid foundation in adult life as well-adjusted dogs who are not easily frightened.

Proper medical care is extremely important to us. We do not use cheap medications from the farm stores but always use veterinary supplies. The puppies are dewormed with a mild, liquid wormer for roundworms several times during their 8 weeks with us. Almost all puppies are born with roundworms, regardless of proper care for the females before, during and after breeding. Our puppies are always free of fleas and earworms. We never use aggressive shampoos or flea powders. If a puppy should come in contact with fleas (during a trip to the vet or an outside visitor bringing them by accident), we apply Revolution topically. Our adults are treated all year round to ensure a flea-free home. It has been scientifically proven that vaccinating a puppy before 6 weeks of age is unnecessary. A puppy receives antibodies in the mother's milk and before 6 weeks, these antibodies will actually reject a vaccine. Because of this research, we will not vaccinate a puppy before 6 weeks of age. We vaccinate against canine distemper, adenovirus and parvovirus. Each puppy will come home with a medical form indicating when he was born, was dewormed and what product was used, as well as the details of the vaccination. There is also information on what to do next, which makes your job much easier! Exactly what you need and when, to help start a plan between you and your vet. We will send your puppy home with his medical records etc.

We do not ship puppies via Cargo. You can fly to pick up your puppy and return home with your puppy under your seat. You can either pick up your puppy at our home or hire our carrier to drive your puppy to meet you at Pierre Elliott Trudreau Airport. Hire a flight nanny to fly your puppy to you. This ranges from $350 to $800 depending on location, ear time and timing. Drive to pick up your puppy and drive home with your puppy. If the drive is more than overnight, we prefer you to fly.

Yes we almost always have puppies available because we almost never take reservations except for particular colors. We prefer to wait until they are 4-6 weeks old to know their temperaments and to have an idea of their weight before presenting them to families. The fact that we never take pictures of our puppies before they are 4 weeks old, automatically puts us in a situation where we almost always announce them at the last minute and for this reason it is often possible to find the rare pearl in our home... Most breeders work with a reservation list and the most beautiful puppies always go first. lol If you are serious and want a puppy we suggest you simply write to us at: info@royaldoodles.ca . To start the adoption process, simply answer these 6 questions in your email which will also help you choose your puppy:
1- Desire a Male or a Female.
2- The color is according to your taste or your budget.
3- When will you be ready to welcome your puppy at home. The date or month you want to pick up your puppy.
4- The size you are looking for between 33 pounds and 60 pounds.
5- Last but not least, please tell us about the place where your dog will live. EX: House with a fenced yard. Or close to a dog park...
6- Are you a somewhat active or very active family.

Small standard: 30 to 40 lbs (F1, F1b and F2b)

Standard: 40 to 55 lbs (F1, F1b, F2b and multigenerational)

Our goal is to produce consistently healthy and well balanced puppies. We do a lot to ensure this result and therefore, having a puppy under the goal is few and far between. Although we may occasionally produce a puppy with an umbilical hernia or overbite, the reduction is usually $100 or less.

"Hypoallergenic" is a sales ploy word that many breeders use. It is unlikely that any reputable breeder would use such a term. That said, there are absolutely types of hair that do not generally aggravate people with dog allergies. It depends on what the person is allergic to. If a person is allergic to canine saliva, there is nothing we can do about it. If the person is allergic to hair and dander, there are absolutely genetic ales responsible for that. We perform DNA testing on all our breeding dogs to better understand their specific genetic makeup. This allows us to carefully select our pairs and be able to educate our families on which pairs will be most likely to produce puppies with a hypoallergenic coat. Despite the basic information, this is simply not a "just get an F1b" answer. In fact, there are several generations of Bordoodles that can produce hypoallergenic coats, including, but not limited to, F1b, F2 / F2b, multigenerational and even some rare F1 combinations. So you are not limited to one generation if you need an anti-allergic coat.

Once you have said "Yes" to a specific litter, we will begin sending a series of emails to help you prepare for your next arrival. This will include details on nutrition, training, veterinary care and more.  Follow us for the first 9 weeks as we raise your puppy, then continue our work using the PC movies to guide you. Their book "When Pigs Fly" is also incredibly helpful for continuing education! Another favorite book that I highly recommend is called "Mine" . Another place to get a head start is Baxter and Bella. This is an incredible online puppy training program with amazingly detailed professional videos as well as one-on-one help with your specific puppy.  Our puppy families sign up for Baxter and Bella and sing their praises all the time! With Puppy Culture and Baxter and Bella in your back pocket, you'll have a huge advantage in training your puppy the right way, right from the start!

A well-bred, well-loved puppy should not have any trauma or experiences that would make it a bad companion for another dog or cat. The temperament of the "other dog or cat" will be an important detail that we will discuss with you to help you choose the right puppy for your family.

The designations F1, F1b, F2, F2b and F3 and others refer to the generations of breeding and crossing in dogs.

The meaning of the classification is as follows:
F1 : Dog resulting from the reproduction of a Poodle and a Border Collie
F1b : Dog resulting from the reproduction of a Poodle and a Bordoodle F1
F2 : Dog resulting from the reproduction of two Bordoodles F1
F2b : Dog resulting from the reproduction of a F1 and a F1B
F3 : Dog resulting from the reproduction of a F1B and a F2B, of two F2

While "hypoallergenic" is a sales ploy word you will never hear us use, a "non-excreting dog" is possible. There are absolutely types of hair that generally do not aggravate allergy sufferers and are "shed free". We perform DNA testing on all our breeding dogs to better understand their specific genetic makeup. This allows us to carefully select our matches and be able to educate our families on which pairs will be most likely to produce puppies with hypoallergenic and "shed-free" coats.
